Known Issues ...

We strive to ensure LogTag software is of the highest quality and as bug free as possible, however it is not always possible to test for or resolve all issues in a given release. Also, some issues are outside our control as they are a result of bugs in the Operating System.

This page lists current and past released versions with known issues, corrective measures that were taken and workarounds for issues not yet resolved.

Issue
When saving a Multichart to PDF, changing the date range in the calendar causes multiple error messages and may require closing LogTag Analyzer through the task manager.
Solution
The desired date range can be saved to a PDF file by zooming in the chart before selecting "save as PDF"; if an exact date range is required the manual zoom function can be used, accessible through the context menu when in the graph window (right click), selecting "Manual Scaling"-"Manual" and entering the desired date range.

Issue
When the program language is set to Swedish it is not possible to add or edit a profile through the LogTag - Profiles menu entry.
Solution
To create a new profile or amend an existing profile, temporarily switch to a different language. Do this in Edit - Options - General Settings. Once you have created/edited the profile switch back to Swedish. Applying profiles to recorders works as expected.

 Vista/7
Issue
It is possible to observe authorisation issues when writing to certain log file locations, e.g. for the SMTP and FTP logs. If this happens, error messages will be displayed warning that LTA was unable to created certain files.
Solution
Access the file location via Windows Explorer and make sure you can create a file in this location.

 Win2k/XP/Vista/7
Issue
Some Network Attached Storage Devices (NAS Drives) use versions of SAMBA (Server Message Block) file servers which do not correctly report back whether a file exists or not. Consequently, LogTag Analyzer will without warning overwrite an already existing file with the same name, regardless of the settings made in the Automation options.
Solution
There is no current workaround. Check your server for this behaviour and if necessary select a different storage location.

Vista x64
Issue
USB interface drivers do not work in Vista 64bit operating systems.
This is because Microsoft blocks any driver installation that has not been approved and digitally signed by Microsoft.
We are working on getting the LogTag USB drivers Microsoft WHQL digitally signed.
Solutions
1. Use RS232 interface if computer has a spare COM port
2. Use RS232 interface with a third party USB-Serial converter that is supplied with Vista x64bit compatible drivers
3. Use a different operating system such as Windows XP 64bit or 32 bit XP or Vista
Status
Resolved in 1.7 Release 14
